The process
- Tell us about your event. The enquiry form takes about four minutes. Date, what you need, roughly what you can spend.
- We come back within one working day. Usually with questions. Sometimes straight with a quote, if the brief is clear.
- You get a written quotation within two working days. Always three options, so your committee has something to choose between. Valid for 30 days.
- You book with a deposit. We issue a payment link, the date is held and we send you a written schedule.
- We design, you approve. Two rounds of amends included. Nothing goes to print without your written sign off. We will not accept a verbal yes.
- We print and deliver. Direct to your site or home address, at least five working days before the event.
- We check in afterwards. What worked, what did not, and we diary your event for next October.
Work back from your event date
This is the timeline we use for a typical programme. Yours arrives in writing when you book.
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Event minus 45 days | Booking confirmed and deposit paid |
| Event minus 40 days | You supply copy, images and listings |
| Event minus 30 days | First design proof with you |
| Event minus 16 days | Final written artwork approval |
| Event minus 12 days | Released to print |
| Event minus 5 days | Delivered |
The five day buffer at the end is deliberate and we do not give it up. It is what stands between a courier delay and an empty gate table.
Payment
| Situation | Terms |
|---|---|
| First job, print only | Payment in full with order |
| First job, design included | 50% deposit, balance before print release |
| Returning customer | 50% deposit, balance before print release |
| Monthly retainers | In advance, by card or Direct Debit |
Asking a volunteer committee for money up front is not always convenient, and we know it. The reason is simple. Print is non cancellable the moment it goes on press, and we pay our printer before you pay us. The deposit is what lets us hold your date.
Things worth knowing
Rush jobs. Anything under five working days carries a 25% surcharge, and we may decline it. That is not us being difficult. It is us refusing to take a job we cannot safely deliver on time.
Errors in approved artwork. Once you have signed off a proof, mistakes still on it are corrected at your cost. Please have two people read the proof. Please check the dates.
Images and logos. You need to hold the rights to everything you send us. Photographs, regimental badges, sponsor logos. If you are unsure, ask and we will help you work out whether it is a problem.
