Before you order a roadside banner

Advertising on or beside the public highway usually needs consent from your local highway authority, and the rules differ county by county. Some will take unauthorised banners down without warning and charge you for it. Ring your county council highways team before you order.

What we tell everyone

  • Six words maximum. Event name, date, arrow. Nobody reads a web address at 50mph.
  • Leave the year off if you can. A banner without a date goes back in the shed. One saying 2027 is landfill in October.
  • Exposed site? Ask us about mesh. Solid PVC is a sail in a crosswind and will tear at the eyelets.
  • Order a spare. Banners get stolen, cut down and blown away. An emergency reprint in the final fortnight costs far more.

Supply a print ready PDF and we check it free. Or choose the design option, send your logo and details, and we produce the artwork and send a proof before anything prints.

VAT: banners are standard rated at 20%. Unlike leaflets and programmes, there is no relief available.
