Dispatches Magazine

All periods. One magazine.

Dispatches is more than a Second World War magazine. It covers the whole re-enactment and living history community, from ancient, medieval and civil war history through to the world wars, the Cold War, military vehicles, museums, collectors, traders and multi period events.

It is also the reason DM Media Group exists. Buying print every issue, to a deadline that does not move, is how we learned to do it for other people. The editorial and production team behind the magazine is the same team that produces event programmes, leaflets and on-site media coverage.

  • Re-enactors across every period
  • Living history groups and societies
  • Military vehicle owners and restorers
  • Traders and kit suppliers
  • Museums and heritage venues
  • Event organisers and show teams
  • Collectors and researchers
  • Families who follow the circuit

Logo to be supplied. The Dispatches Magazine wordmark is not yet in the theme as a vector file. Send an SVG or EPS and it will sit above the brand name, exactly as the Network mark does below.

Reach the people who actually buy

If you sell kit, restore vehicles, run a show, insure the hobby or supply the trade, these are your customers. Not a broad audience with a small slice of interest, but a whole readership built around it.

We keep rates sensible because we would rather carry the right advertisers for years than the wrong ones once. Quarter page upwards, with design included if you need it. Tell us what you sell and the periods you cover, and we will come back with the options.

The Dispatches Network

One community. All periods.

A national platform for re-enactment and living history groups across the UK, built by Dispatches Magazine. Its purpose is to promote, connect and showcase the hobby, and to give groups practical resources, greater public visibility and the existing services of the magazine.

Membership is taken by the group rather than the individual, and brings those benefits together in one place. Full details will be published when the platform launches. If you run a group and want to know more before then, get in touch and we will tell you where it has got to.

  • A dedicated public profile
  • The interactive UK group map
  • A community forum
  • Resources and templates
  • Quarterly printed magazine
  • Individual member accounts
  • A national network
  • Affiliation earnings

Content to be confirmed before publishing. Drafted from the Network information sheet for groups and the launch campaign artwork. Pricing has been removed from this page at your request. Three things still need settling. The information sheet gives 16 July 2026 for registering interest while the launch artwork gives 17 July. The accreditation badge describes members as verified and insured, but the concept paper lists the insurance scheme as still to launch, so no insurance claim is made here. And the platform launch date itself is not yet announced. Confirm all three, along with current group numbers, and upload the Network launch artwork to replace the placeholder photograph.
